The Littlestown Borough police searched the building with bomb sniffing dogs and found no signs of anything threatening.

The school released the following message on the Littlestown Area School District website:

“This morning a message of concern was found in a bathroom at Maple Avenue Middle School.  As a precaution, students were evacuated to the high school auditorium.  The Littlestown Borough Police took charge of the investigation.  The building was then searched with bomb sniffing dogs from Adams and other Maryland and Pennsylvania Police Departments.  When the search was completed and the police turned over the building to district personnel, students returned and the school day was resumed.”

Police are continuing to investigate.  The District will be putting in place additional security measures and a further update will be released at a later time.
