Lancaster City Police charge two men in separate incidents with illegal possession of firearms.  Damien Dixon, 23, was arrested on April 5th at about 2:34 am in the 200 block of Chester Street. Police had responded there for a report of a man with a gun.  Lancaster Safety Coalition cameras observed a man brandishing a handgun while standing with a group of people. A description of the man was given to responding officers.

A man matching the description was observed stepping behind a tree and then returning to the group. An officer went over to the tree and retrieved a .45 caliber revolver. The handgun was loaded and the hammer was cocked back.  In addition, the serial numbers had been scratched off and obliterated. The man who discarded the firearm was identified as Damien Dixon.  Charges against Dixon include Firearms Not to be Carried Without a License and Altering or Obliterating Marks of Identification.  Following arraignment Dixon was sent to Lancaster County in lieu of $100,000 bail.

This past Friday April 11 at about 4:40 pm city police responded to a home in the 500 block of Pershing Avenue for a complaint of a group of men smoking Marijuana on the front porch.  While speaking to the group, police identified and arrested Miguel Vializ, 22, on a warrant for Aggravated Assault and False ID to Law Enforcement.  He was also found in possession of a Smith and Wesson .44 magnum revolver.  The weapon had been reported stolen to the Millersville Borough Police Department.  Vializ had approximately seven grams of Heroin and 113 grams of synthetic Marijuana, packaged and ready for sale on him.

Charges against Vializ include Receiving Stolen Property, Firearms Not to be Carried Without a License and two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver.  Following arraignment Vializ was sent to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $35,000 bail on the warrant and $75,000 bail on the gun and drug charges.
