Rape suspect arrested in Harrisburg

A Harrisburg man is charged with Attempted Homicide and Rape.  The incident happened last week, April 10 at about 11:30 pm along the 20o block of South 3rd Street.  The victim told investigators that she was walking home from a local bar when she approached by the suspect.  The victim, a 29 year old woman and the suspect walked to the victim’s garage.  There the suspect attacked the victim, striking and choking her to the point of nearly passing out.  He then allegedly raped the victim.

Investigators developed information identifying 44 year old Roy Gilbert-Kristman as the suspect. His identity was confirmed by the victim. On Monday afternoon at about 1 o’clock, Gilbert-Kristman was seen walking on a city street.  He was taken into custody without incident.

Charges against Gilbert-Kristman include Criminal Attempt Homicide, Rape Forcible Compulsion, Rape of Substantially Impaired Person, Robbery and Simple Assault. He is being held in Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $300,000 bail.
