A Harrisburg man is indicted on federal charges for making counterfeit money. Abdel Jaber Obaid, 31, was indicted Wednesday on a charge of Manufacturing Counterfeit Obligations of the United States of America.

The U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania says Obaid began making counterfeit $50 and $20 bills as early as April 2012, which were then passed at businesses throughout Dauphin County.

If convicted, Obaid faces up to 20 years in a federal prison, a parole term and a fine of up to $250,000.
