No one was injured during the incident. It occurred about noon Monday at the Taco Bell restaurant at 2775 Aurora Ave., the Naperville Sun is reporting.
Sgt. Bill Davis, the police department’s public information officer, said the officer behind the wheel of the squad car at the time “was attempting to turn around in the lot to check on a vehicle when he over-steered, and drove over the curb and the rock.”
The squad car, No. 188, came to rest almost precisely atop the boulder’s peak.
“The vehicle has been sent out for an estimate on repairs,” Davis said Wednesday via email.
Davis would not identify the officer who was driving the squad car at the time of the incident.
“The police department cannot make any comments on personnel matters,” he said.
