Burglaries are on the rise in Red Lion Borough and surrounding areas, according to a news release issued by York Area Regional Police.

These incidents are mainly occurring during the overnight hours–but some are also happening during the daylight hours. Items are being taken from unsecured garages/sheds, parking areas along alleys and parking lots. Some of the stolen items include lawn mowers, motorcycles, power lawn equipment, actual cars/trucks, hand tools, power tools and electronic equipment.

Residents should make sure all doors and windows are locked at all times.

Police are asking the public to help by calling 911 if they see any suspicious activity.

Anyone with information on the burglaries is asked to contact York Area Regional Police at 717-741-1259.
