A Halifax man who was arrested last month after investigators say he assaulted a police officer waived his preliminary hearing on Monday.

Brian James Warren, 34, is facing numerous charges including aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and flight to avoid apprehension.

According to police reports, Warren jumped out of a second story window at 315 Armstrong Street on April 22 when a Halifax police officer and state police troopers attempted to serve an arrest warrant.

As Warren attempted to flee–he punched a Halifax police officer and got into a fight with several troopers, investigators said. Warren was eventually subdued and taken into custody.

Authorities say the Halifax police officer suffered a broken finger.

A formal arraignment is scheduled for June 19.

Warren is currently in Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $75,000.
