Police Standoff in Harrisburg

Charges are pending after a domestic dispute spiraled out of control in Harrisburg Sunday night. Police responded to the 300 block of Seneca Street around 7:39 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 34-year-old Hispanic male on the second floor–holding a 2-year-old girl in his arms while grasping a knife.

The little girl was released without injury, police said. The man then barricaded himself in a room.

After an hour of negotiations–the man surrendered, police said. He sustained self-inflicted neck and arm injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No word yet on the man’s identity.

The investigation is ongoing.
