It’s a National Championship for a group of York County high school students.

Students from Dallastown High School are National Champions after placing first in the Junior ROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl Marine Division.

The team of seven sophomore and junior students competed in online assessments that tested their knowledge of English, Math, Science, Current Events as well as leadership skills.

The team just missed winning last year and were hungry to be named national champs.

Dallastown JROTC member Michael Mitchell said, “this year we definitely worked a lot harder to go for that trophy, that number one place and we earned it I believe.”

The Dallastown JROTC competed against more than 3,000 other teams across the country over a 6 month period to win Dallastown’s first ever ROTC National Championship.
