Police charge Harrisburg man for selling heroin that led to woman’s death

A man accused of selling drugs to a Hummelstown woman who overdosed in a Weis bathroom back in December now faces murder charges.

According to Swatara Township Police Tony H. James Jr, 36, of Evergreen Street in Harrisburg is being charged with murder by delivery of drugs and unlawful delivery of controlled substance.

Police say on December 13 2013, Kelly Sherrick, 31, was found in a public bathroom at Weis Market located on the 6300 block of Grayson Road. Investigation led police and the Dauphin County Coroner to believe that the victim died of a heroin overdose.

After a 5 month investigation police along with the Dauphin County Drug Task Force identified James, who also goes by the street name” T” and “Michael Daniels” as the suspect. James turned himself in to police on Tuesday.

James is currently in Dauphin County Prison. His bail is set at 500,000.000

A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM Thursday to discuss the arrest.
