…A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect today for our area as heavy rains result in fast rises of creeks, streams, and other waterways…
RAIN, RAIN: A slow moving cold front is producing heavy rain across the region this morning. Rain showers continue through midday before slowly tapering form west to east through the afternoon. Models continue to pump out the possibility of 1.5-3.0”+ or rain falling across the area. This will continue to up the threat for localized flooding to typical trouble spots, as well as small creeks and streams. Stay alert and send us your reports safely please.
Secondly, while it’s raining a cold front passes and helps to drop temperatures through the day. We start in the middle and upper 60s in spots…slowly dropping toward the 50s form west to east during the morning. Then we boost back to the middle 60s as we begin to dry out. Tonight, we all make it to the upper 40s for lows.
WEEKEND: Expect gradual clearing on Saturday with highs in the upper 60s. A few drops are possible but most stay dry. Sunday is also pleasant with more sunshine in the cards. We could see a stray drop or two possible. Enjoy the weather!
NEXT WEEK: Monday is mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s. We’re in the low 70s on Tuesday and hit the middle 70s by Wednesday, a bit closer to seasonal averages. Late Wednesday into Thursday, we’ll deal with another shot at showers with highs in the middle 70s
