Officials at Milton Hershey School take swift action after a camera is found hidden in a student dorm bathroom.  Students discovered the camera this morning in the bathroom of their Transitional Living Facility. The TLF is a dorm like environment for students in their senior year.  Derry Township Police were  immediately notified.  Officers retrieved a small digital camera.

Late this afternoon school officials issued the following statement:

“Milton Hershey School is taking this matter very seriously and cooperating with police in every way possible as they investigate. A staff member was questioned and his employment was terminated as a result. He has been told that he may not return to campus. We regret any impact this individual’s personal actions have had on any of our students, and have begun our own full investigation of the matter.”
The name of the fired worker was not disclosed. School officials say they are devastated by the violation of trust placed upon workers who care for the students.  They also said that staff are available for any student who may need counsel.  Milton Hershey School is a cost-free, private, co-ed home & school for children from low-income families.
Derry Township Police are investigating the incident.
