Teddy bears got some much needed TLC during a teddy bear clinic in Dauphin County Monday.  EMT’s from Penn State Hershey Life Lion held two teddy and doll clinics at Grace Christian Child Care in Hummelstown.  Children between the ages of 3 and 5 brought in their stuffed companions to have their height, weight, and vital signs checked.  They also got to tour the inside of an ambulance to become familiar with the equipment should they ever end up needing to ride in one.

Chelsie Weber, Paramedic with Lifeline EMS says, “Crashes are very scary for children, so if we can desensitize a little bit to our ambulances it makes the situation a little better for them.”

Following the clinic, each child and their bear was presented with a teddy bear certificate with information about a diagnosis and ways to keep their bear healthy.
