Police: Red Lion man arrested after being caught with stolen goods in garage

A man was caught early Tuesday morning stealing items from a garage in Red Lion, police said.  According to police reports, Allen Wayne Harris Jr., 41,  was arrested after he ran into York Area Regional Police officers who were conducting a foot patrol in an alley along the first block of South Pine Street around 2:27 a.m.

Investigators learned that Harris had just burglarized a nearby garage and arrested him. During the arrest, police discovered Harris may have been behind similar burglaries in the borough.

Officers searched Harris’ garage  and found numerous items that had been reported stolen from multiple locations throughout Red Lion Borough.

The items were taken to York Area Regional Police Department to be processed. Officers will be in touch with the owners so they can get their stolen property back.

Harris is facing numerous charges including burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.

He was taken to York County Central Booking for arraignment.
