Nothing says summer like going camping and making a good ol’ fashioned s’more. But one Adams County campground is putting a twist on the traditional treat.

Campers at Deer Run Campground in Gardners attempted to build the world biggest s’more. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the s’more had to weigh at least 200 pounds.

Campers helped pack marshmallows and “chocolatey” goodness onto a cracker that weighed more than 100 pounds.

Campground owners Joe and Debra Hill say they hope the idea of the world’s biggest s’more will bring more people to their grounds.

“We came up with the idea of making the biggest s’more and we thought it goes along with camping and everybody seemed to like it and jump in and join in and help us,” Joe said. “and it hasn’t been done before, so this is it,” Debra added.

The Hills want to make the event and the s’more bigger and better next year. They would also like to get a charity involved in the event.
