One man shot in Carlisle; suspect on the loose

Police in Carlisle, Cumberland County are investigating a shooting.
It happened around 8 o’clock Saturday night near the intersection of North Pitt and A Streets.
Carlisle police say their department is nearby and officers actually heard the gunfire and responded.

A man, who is in his 40’s, was found with several gun shot wounds to his body. He was flown to theĀ  hospital for treatment. There is no word on his current condition.

As for the suspect, police called in K-9 units and spent hours canvassing the area. It is not known if there is more than one assailant.

Carlisle Mayor Tim Scott issued a statement about the incident saying in part, “the public should not be alarmed, as we believe the victim was specifically targeted.”
