Georgia man faces charges in Fairview Twp. hotel assault

A Georgia man is in police custody after police say he assaulted a woman at a hotel.

Fairview Township Police have charged Kenneth Hannah, 48, of Stapleton, Georgia, with simple assault, harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident at the Scottish Inn on Commerce Drive.

According to police, officers responded to a report of an assault around 4:00 a.m. Wednesday. A woman victim told officers after spending time with Hannah at the hotel, she was attempting to leave when Hannah grabbed her arm, threw her down, choked her, and threatened her with a knife.

When the victim attempted to defend herself, Hannah bit her on the wrist, police said.

The woman was able to get away, and the officers took Hannah into custody, finding him in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hannah was arraigned and in York County prison on a $100,000 bail.
