The State Attorney General’s Office charges a Berks County man with attempting to have sex with a 14 year old boy. State agents targeting child predators say Michael Collier, 63, of Reading traveled to meet the minor at a predetermined location last Friday in Berks. The “boy” was actually an undercover agent.
The agents who were monitoring online advertisements relating to sexual exploitation of minors, discovered suspicious advertisements allegedly soliciting sex from young boys. The agents posing as a 14 year old, responded to an advertisement.
Coller responded back and almost immediately engaged, what he believed to be a teen boy, in very explicit sexual conversations. Calling himself “daddy”, Coller allegedly told the minor to “serve and take care of your daddy. In turn “daddy” will take care of you.”
As the conversations progressed Coller exchanged cell phone numbers with the “boy” and allegedly began soliciting oral sex from the minor and expressed a desire to meet. Agents say Coller texted the “boy” two pictures of his exposed genitalia.
Coller was arrested when he arrived at the meeting location. Charges against Coller include three counts of Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Criminal Solicitation to Commit Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child and Criminal use of a Communication Facility.
Following arraignment, Coller was released on $100,000 bail. He faces a preliminary hearing next week.
