Learning about the outdoors and animals in Pennsylvania in a fun way was the goal of Sunday’s Family Fun Day in Dauphin County.
The State Game Commission, along with Member’s 1st Federal Credit Union, teamed up to host the event at the Commission’s headquarters.
Families in attendance were able to tour the facility, also learn about hunting safety with shooting simulations and archery demonstrations.
“The Game Commission for several years now has partnered with the National Archery in the Schools Program and our coordinator is out there and allowing people to explore archery through shooting here on the range,” says Travis Lau, PA Game Commission Spokesman.
Films on the Commission’s restoration of the bald eagle and elk population in Pennsylvania were also shown.
The event was free and open to the public simply to have something fun to do on a Sunday.
