A Berks County investigation that spanned a year and a half results in thirteen arrests for possessing or disseminating child pornography via the internet. The arrests were announced at a press conference today in Reading. The District Attorney’s Child Abuse Unit and the Lower Heidelberg Township Police Department handled the countywide sweep in conjunction with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Detectives served warrants on thirteen individuals throughout Berks county, seizing computers, cell phones and other electronic equipment containing pornographic images. Investigators say the devices contain thousands of child pornographic images.
