A church partially collapsed in the 200 block of Lincoln Street in Steelton, Dauphin County, Saturday night.

Steelton Mayor Tom Acri says the collapse impacted two homes. He said the families in those homes were not hurt.

Acri said the church is several decades old and has been vacant for years. Acri said borough officials are trying to contact the building’s owner.

“Codes has been trying for a couple weeks to get a hold of the gentleman who owns the building because we have some incidents with the building; we know that. We just can’t make any contact with him,” said Acri.

Mayor Acri said the borough plans to start legal proceedings to try to tear down the rest of the church.
