Police investigate fatal crash in Lower Paxton Township

Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. along the 700 block of Nyes Road, Dauphin County.

Police say that 67-year-old Connie Appleby was driving her 2014 Chevrolet Equinox northbound when she collided head-on with a 2007 Mercury Milan driving southbound. Appleby was pinned inside of her car, and died at the scene as a result of her injuries, police said.

The driver of the Milan, Harry Gottschall, 77, of Hummelstown was transported from the scene to Hershey Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.

Officials say the cause of the crash will not be released until the investigation is complete. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lower Paxton Township Police at 717-657-5656.
