A Carlisle man was taken into custody after police say he shot into an occupied vehicle early Friday morning. Police charged William Harris, 22, with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure and persons not to possess firearms.

According to investigators, Harris fired a shot towards an occupied white SUV along the 200 block of East North Street around 12:04 a.m.

Police said Harris fled the scene in a silver car driven by the victim’s ex-girlfriend, Heather Bechtel.

Officers located Harris around 2 a.m. along the first block of East Louther Street.

He was arrested and taken to Cumberland County Prison.
