Police arrest Harrisburg man in Hanover Shooting

A 24-year-old Harrisburg man was arrested and charged with one count criminal homicide after police say he shot another man in Hanover Friday night.

Police say Colin Hafer got into a fight with 20-year-old Shawn Jarvis in Center Square around 8:10 p.m., during the altercation Hafer pulled out a semi automatic gun and shot Jarvis.

A police officer in the area was flagged down by citizens, and Hafer was arrested on scene.

According to the coroner’s office, at 9:04 p.m. Jarvis was pronounced dead at York Hospital following the shooting.

Police said Hafer later admitted to shooting Jarvis, he was taken to Central booking for arraignment.

The coroner’s office said an autopsy is scheduled for Jarvis on Monday.
