Two teenage boys, fishing in the Conewago Creek in Washington Township, York County, made a disturbing discovery Sunday afternoon. The boys saw a body floating, face down in the creek. They immediately called 911 and the coroner was summoned to the scene.

People in the area suspect the body is that of a missing boater, known only as “Jerry.”
He went missing Thursday after the boat he was in went over a low head dam. A friend who was in the boat with “Jerry” was able to swim to shore and call for help. He reported seeing his friend floating unconscious in the water before he disappeared.

Northern York County Regional Police, along with other agencies, are investigating. At this point a positive identification on the victim has not been made.
