Mason Harlacker and Ben Jones go fishing together every Sunday, but today was unlike any other day before.

The 19-year-olds say they were bow-fishing for carp along the Conewago Creek in Washington Township in York County around 9:00 a.m.  That’s when they noticed a man floating face-down in the water by one of the trees.

“There was a tree that was facreekllen over in the water, so we got up close to it to see if there was carp under there, and we both saw it at the same time,” Jones said.

It was the body of 41-year-old Jerry Reisinger. Reisinger had been missing since Thursday afternoon when his boat capsized during a fishing trip with his friend along the Conewago Creek.

His friend was able to swim to safety; however Reisinger had not been seen again, until Sunday morning.

Family members were called to the scene shortly after police arrived to identify Reisinger’s body.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
