Bear cub spotted in Upper Allen Township

A bear cub was spotted on Monday roaming through several neighborhoods in Upper Allen Township, according to police reports . The cub was last seen around 10 p.m. on West Winding Hill Road near the intersection of South York Street.

There have been no reports of the bear being hostile or aggressive.

Authorities are asking people to move trash cans and bird feeders inside, so as not to attract bears. If a bear is seen, do not approach the bear or attempt to confine it in any way.

The Upper Allen Police Department is working with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, and are asked to call the Upper Allen Police Department at 717-238-9676 regarding any additional sightings.

    Uh-oh, a bear cub. Mama Bear can't be too far away, and folks need to realize that you never, never, never get between a bear and her cub. A very dangerous place.
