Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane today announced the arrest of a York County man, who allegedly recorded nude children from outside their home, as part of ongoing efforts to target child predators.
Carmelo Rodriquez, 55, of York, is charged with two counts of manufacturing of child pornography, four counts of dissemination of child pornography, 25 counts of possession of child pornography, three counts of invasion of privacy and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.
The charges state that agents, who were conducting an online investigation, identified a computer on a peer-to-peer network making several media files – believed to depict child pornography – available for download. The computer’s IP address was later identified as serving the above York County residence, where agents later located Rodriquez.
A search of Rodriquez’s York County residence on July 2 uncovered multiple computers and removable storage devices containing child pornography. Preliminary searches of Rodriquez’s devices revealed dozens of videos and photos of apparent child pornography containing children as young as 6 or 7 years old.
During an on-scene preview of files located on an USB flash drive, agents discovered videos of two females, both believed to be under the age of 18, in various states of undress, recorded from outside a residential window. Rodriquez allegedly recorded these videos in 2011.
Rodriquez arraigned and held on $120,000 cash bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 11.
