Bicyclist hospitalized after being hit by tractor-trailer in Silver Spring Township

A man was taken to the hospital after a tractor-trailer struck his bicycle in Silver Spring Township on Thursday night. Authorities say the crash took place along the 6600 block of Carlisle Pike around 10:43 p.m.

The 31-year-old bicyclist was flown to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment.  There’s no word yet on the man’s identity or the extent of his injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.

The investigation remains ongoing.
