A York woman spent the last week in captivity.  The man accused of holding her against her will in her own home on N. West Street is now behind bars.

Neighbor Dwayne Williams says, “I haven’t noticed anything suspicious, everything normal.”

So people were alarmed when they learned a man allegedly held their neighbor, Ashley Walcott, captive this week.

Williams says, “That’s strange, nice quiet area, that’s surprising to me.”

Police say Walcott invited accused abuser, Aziijah Sweeney, into her home.  Sweeney, of York, took Walcott’s keys to her car, house and a safe with a handgun.  He refused to let her leave and hit her repeatedly.  Sweeney is charged with simple assault and false imprisonment.

Walcott describes the past week as disturbing.  She has a big bruise on her left arm and her bottom lip is swollen.  Alcott says Sweeney is the father of her child.  Now, she’s considering moving for her safety.

Williams says, “She’s a real nice person, down to earth, keeps to herself, doesn’t cause problem.”

According to a police report, Alcott messaged her sister on Facebook who then contacted police.  She was able to use social media after Sweeney smoked marijuana then passed out upstairs.

Authorities say Sweeney has three outstanding warrants.  At least two regard Walcott.  Sweeney is in York County Prison.
