Motorists are advised that northbound Interstate 83 on the “John Harris Memorial Bridge” over the Susquehanna River in the Harrisburg area will be reduced from three lanes to two lanes of traffic on Saturday, July 12.   The northbound traffic restriction is scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The traffic restriction is necessary so that bridge inspectors can safely operate in the right lane and shoulder area in the vicinity of the northbound off-ramp to Second Street (I-83 Exit 43). A similar operation was performed earlier in the week, on Wednesday, in the southbound direction.

Motorists are asked to be alert to this operation and to slow down when approaching and traveling through the work area, for their safety as well as for the safety of the inspection and work crews.
