Lemoyne man charged in early morning burglary

A Cumberland County man faces charges in an early morning burglary.  West Shore Regional Police responded to a call of a burglary in progress at about 6:45 this morning at the Monro Muffler Shop in the 1000 block of Market Street, Lemoyne.

A witness reported seeing a man break a window and enter the building. The man came out later carrying something.  The first officers on the scene saw a man matching the description provided by the witness walking from the rear of another business on Market Street. An officer attempted to stop the man, but he ran away.

Police pursued the suspect onto the 900 block of State Street where officers ordered him to stop but he refused to comply. He was then tased and taken into custody.

The man was identified William Charles Loper, III, 23, of Lemoyne.  Charges against Loper include Burglary, Criminal Trespass and Theft by Unlawful Taking. Following arraignment he was sent to Cumberland County in lieu of $10,000.00.
