BMW is recalling 1.6 million of its 3-Series cars due to a possible airbag problem.
The German automaker says the passenger-side airbags can rupture. If that happens, the bags may not work properly, and passengers could be hurt by shrapnel.
BMW says it hasn’t received any reports of problems in its vehicles. Dealers will fix the problem for free.
This airbag issue has also led to recalls involving Honda, Chrysler, Ford, Mazda, Nissan, and Toyota vehicles.
