Police: Drunk man hits officer in Steelton

Steelton police arrested a man early Saturday after he was accused of hitting an officer, investigators said.

Julius Harvey III, 54, of Steelton, is charged with aggravated assault and public drunkenness.

According to police reports, an officer was in the Turkey Hill parking lot around 1: 44 a.m. when they noticed Harvey walking in the street and shouting.  When the officer went to check on Harvey–he became belligerent and hit the officer in the throat, police said.

Harvey was arrested and taken to Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 1.
