Energy drink maker, 5-Hour Energy has been slapped with a lawsuit for alleged false advertisement.
Oregon Attorney General, Ellen Rosenblum, says the makers and marketers behind the drink, claim customers get extra energy from a unique blend of ingredients when it actuality the effect comes from a concentrated dose of caffeine.
Oregon filed the suit as part of a 33-state investigation into the accuracy of the product’s claims.
The suit also targets claims that users of the drink don’t experience a crash when the effects subside and that it is okay for children.
5-Hour Energy responded to the suit saying, “When companies are bullied by someone in a position of power, companies roll over, pay the ransom, and move on. We’re not doing that.”
