Car chase and arrest in Dauphin County bank robbery

A high speed chase ends with the arrest of a bank robbery suspect in Dauphin County.  It happened at about 3:47 pm at the M&T Bank branch in the 4200 block of Derry street in Swatara Township.

Police arrived on the scene and quickly determined that the suspect had fled in a Dodge Magnum.  An officer on routine patrol on Market Street, spotted a vehicle that matched the description and initiated a traffic stop. A brief pursuit followed. It ended near the intersection of Hale and Berryhill Streets with the suspect vehicle crashing into a fire hydrant. The suspect attempted to run away on foot but was taken into custody.

The suspect was identified as Robert Eugene Singletary, 45, of Bellefonte. Singletary faces a list of charges.
