New Cumberland man arrested for DUI with 2 kids in car

A New Cumberland man was arrested Sunday night after he was caught driving under the influence with two children in his SUV, police said.

Rodrigo Alvarado, 44, was stopped by an officer on Sunday for driving erratically along the 600 block of North Front Street in Wormleysburg around 8:32 p.m.   He had two children, ages 6 and 10, in the SUV with him.

According to police reports, Alvarado showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

Alvarado’s children were released into the custody of a relative.

    If you only knew how many times this is happening every day in York and the drivers are not driving erratically.
