Motorcyclists in York County took a special ride on Saturday to help a little boy battling cancer.
Colton Whitebread, of East Manchester Township, has had surgery and is going through chemotherapy for brain cancer.
The motorcyclists went on a ride through York County to raise money to help his family pay for medical bills. The poker run was organized by the owner and staff of Westgate Restaurant and Lounge, where little Colton’s grandmother is a regular customer.
They came together to help.
Diane Shearer, the owner of Westgate says,”Whenever it’s a child, we want to do more and we also lost some family members to cancer, so that was one of the second reasons.”
Colton’s mother Danielle says, “It feels great, there’s no words to explain how much, how good we feel about it and he definitely loved it, this is the highlight of his day.”
The support for Colton, who will turn two years old next month, was tremendous, with the ride and other people just stopping by to donate money. He still has several more months of chemotherapy, but Colton’s mother says he is doing well.
The poker run consisted of four stops at bars throughout York County.
