Mosquito spraying set for parts of Adams County

The Adams County Conservation District’s West Nile Virus Program will be conducting an ultra-low volume (ULV) mosquito control operation in Bonneauville Borough and Mount Pleasant Township, Adams County.  The treatments, using a truck mounted sprayer, begin at around sunset on Wednesday, July 30.

The control work is in response to high numbers of mosquitoes collected that have tested positive for WNV in those areas.

The program will be treat the entire Boroough of Bonneauville. In Mount Pleasant Township the control operation will cover the residential areas of Wheatland Acres and Colonial Ridge.

The business license for the Conservation District is BU 6875.  The product used will be BioMist 3+15 a rate of 0.75oz./acre.  The product is designed to provide quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitoes.

Weather conditions and other unexpected events could delay or cancel control operations, if this happens the treatments will be done on a rain date of Thursday, July 31.
