wwiToday marks 100 years since the start of World War One.

It was on July 28th, 1914, that Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

The war would soon spread throughout Europe and across the globe.

The United States tried to remain neutral, but tensions with Germany led the U.S. to declare war in 1917.

World War I ended a year later in 1918.
