Jeffrey Reid MUG

The suspect in a York City homicide and arson is in custody in Richmond, Virginia. Jeffrey Reid was arrested by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Richmond today. Marshal Kevin Connolly says Reid was taken into custody without incident a few hours ago. His ex-girlfriend, Karina DeJesus, was with him and unharmed. DeJesus was reported missing by family members five days ago.

Reid is wanted by York City Police for a string of crimes, including two home invasions and the murder of 23-year-old DaShaun Davis. Those crimes took place on July 19th.

DeJesus’ family believed Reid took her against her will.

They say Karina took a ‘Protection from Abuse’ order out against Reid two weeks ago.

Marshals say Reid initially provided them with a false name, but they were able to positively identify him by his tattoos.
