TOMORROW: Clouds will increase in the afternoon as another weak disturbance rotates in. It may produce a few isolated showers otherwise, skies will be partly sunny and with a little more sunshine, we could see highs in the low 80’s in many locations while others stay in the upper 70’s.

OUTLOOK:  Frontal boundary that pushed off the coast Sunday night is stationary for much of the week and looks to inch closer to the coast which would set up a return flow. More moisture streams up from the south-southeast Friday into the weekend while the upper level trough starts to open up. Humidity will go up and temperatures should remain in the low through Sunday. Our storm chances, while only about a 30 to 40 percent chance will be possible Friday through the weekend. Monday and Tuesday temperatures warm slightly more to the mid and upper 80s as ridging tries to build in. Rain chances are minimal at this point.

TROPIC UPDATE: We’ll be watching in the coming days the development of our next tropical system which would be Bertha. Models have it approaching the Carolina coast in the middle to late part of next week.  The latest is the shower and storm activity has been weakening but forecasts still call for it to become a depression in the next few days.
