The NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for the counties in green until 9:15pm today.

Doppler radar indicated very heavy rain due to a band of slow moving showers and thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

Between 1 to 2 inches of rain has fallen across this area and several more hours of heavy showers and storms will occur into the afternoon.

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.  Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear.

A flood watch means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding of water in urban and other areas is occurring or imminent.  For more info log onto the NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SITE.
