The USA Today named Bakersfield as the driest city in the state.
The drought has affected all of California.
It has increased the price of food and dried up the little water that was left.
There hasn’t been any measurable rainfall in Bakersfield since May 6th.
Citrus grower, John Gless, has noticed the impact of this drought when it comes to his water wells.
He said, “Our wells are definitely not producing like they were a year ago. We’re probably down 35% now.”
Bakersfield has been in a state of exceptional drought so far this year.
