The announced attendance at Wednesday’s York Revolution game was 4,988.   It’s fair to say a large portion of the crowd were more interested in meeting famous softball star Jennie Finch than the final score.   The 2004 United States Olympic gold medalist signed autographs and spread a positive message to young people competing in sports, especially young girls.

“There’s a line of one thousand people out there waiting to get in the gates excited,”  she said.  “It’s exciting and it’s proving how far we’ve come in the sport and how many young women out there are involved in sports.”

Finch threw out the first pitch and talked to the crowd.   She encouraged the kids to have dreams, set goals and go for those dreams.
