A Lancaster man is behind bars after police find him in possession of a gun.
Police say Kenneth Lamar Gillis, 21, was standing in the area of the 500 block of Woodward Street around 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with two other males. Patrol officers noticed that Gillis seemed like he was trying to avoid police by stepping back quickly towards the store.
Upon investigation, police found that Gillis had summary warrants held by the constable, police said. Gillis was arrested on scene.
Prior to being arrested officers noticed that Gills continued to make movements toward his waist. Officers found that Gillis had a loaded 9mm handgun on him, which has fallen down his pant leg.
According to police, Gills is prohibited from legally possessing a firearm from having two prior felony drug convictions.
Gillis in now charged with persons not to possess firearms and carrying a firearm without a license. He is currently in Lancaster County Prison with a $250,000 bail.
