Jury convicts Carroll Twp. man; judge sentences him to life in prison for killing 57-year-old woman

A jury convicted a man Thursday of second-degree murder for killing a Carroll Township woman in June 2013.

After about an hour of deliberation , a  jury convicted Bryan Brackbill Jr., 34, of second-degree murder in the death of 57-year-old Sandra Mulder.

Mulder’s body was found at her home along the 2000 block of Chestnut Grove Road on June 2. According to testimony from the trial,  her body was found on the bedroom floor with her hands and feet tied with duct tape. Missouri police arrested Brackbill the next day driving the victim’s car.

Brackbill and his former girlfriend had previously lived with Mulder at her home.

Judge Michael E. Bortner sentenced Brackbill to serve the remainder of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
