Kids in York got some new hairdos for the school year, and it didn’t cost a penny.
Next Level Barber Shop on East Philadelphia Street offered free hair cuts for kids in kindergarten through 8th grade.
Owner, Troy Rice, knows how pricey school supplies can be, and wanted to help families cut back on those expenses.
He thinks a sharp new haircut helps boost self-esteem as kids head into a new school year.
“Yeah, they’re definitely happy, the kids are happy. Parents are pleased, barbers are happy, it’s a good feeling,” Rice said.
Next level opened back in July. Rice says he now has three barbers, and plans to hire several more.
