VIRAL VIDEO: Truck driver jumps into action to save a grandmother and baby after horrific crash

A truck driver is being hailed a hero after he jumped into action to save a grandmother and her one year old granddaughter after a horrific crash on a Mississippi highway.

David Fredericksen had a dashcam rolling when a car slammed into a semi-truck along I-10. The car immediately burst into flames as other drivers slammed on their brakes to avoid another crash.

In the video below, you can hear Fredericksen contemplating on what to do next. He immediately jumps out of his truck with a fire extinguisher and heads to the car.

After several other witnesses jumped in to help, they were able to pull the driver to safety.

According to the YouTube post by Fredericksen’s son, everyone involved survived.  The driver of the vehicle suffered a broken leg and all others had only minor injuries.

Police have confirmed the timestamp on the video is incorrect and said the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. Monday August 11, 2014.
