CARLISLE, Pa. (WPMT)-Police are warning Carlisle residents to be vigilant after an elderly couple was targeted in a ‘distraction burglary’ last week.

It happened at a home along the 200 block of Acre Drive on Friday.

Investigators said two men pretending to be surveyors distracted an 83-year-old man while two accomplices went inside his home and stole three rings.

The rings are valued at $8,000, police said.

All four suspects are believed to be Hispanic males.

Police remind residents to ask for proper identification of individuals before you allow them onto your property or into your home, especially if you are not expecting anyone.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 717-243-5252.
